Bio
Lyla S. Marquez is a trauma-informed Spiritual Counselor with over twenty years of experience working with children and teens through the process of art. She received a master’s degree in East-West Psychology and Spiritual Counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). With a background as an artist, Psychedelic Educator, and Expressive Arts Facilitator, Lyla’s work is grounded in her practice of earth-honoring ritual, prayer, and ancestral healing with a Jungian-inspired approach. In addition to her counseling practice and continual research in trauma and psychedelics, Lyla also serves as the Registrar for the Ministry Training Program (MTP) with the Center for Sacred Studies (CSS), founded by a world-renowned elder, grandmother, and vision keeper, Jyoti Ma (Jeneane Prevatt Ph.D.), who helped convene the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers.
