I'm a psychologist, educator, and researcher. My work draws on western psychology and indigenous systems of wellness, such as shamanism, yoga, Buddhism, and non-dual Vedanta philosophy. I completed training in research, depth psychology, eco-psychology, and psychological work with altered states of consciousness during my Master's and Doctoral degrees at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have extensive experience facilitating transformative events, training, seminars, CE continuing education, graduate-level courses, on topics such as psychedelic integration, yoga psychology, neuropsychology of trauma, nature-based psychological practice, and transformative experience design in Virtual Reality.
My doctoral dissertation research explored cutting-edge virtual reality, or VR, technology for psychological well-being. Using a novel collaborative study design, the research generated qualitative and quantitative data about the long-term use of a VR app-SoundSelf VR-- that induces altered states of consciousness akin to psychedelics, such as LSD or psilocybin.
At SoundSelf, I lead research, medical affairs, and Digital Therapeutic design. I also assist with strategy, marketing, regulatory affairs, and general business processes of a fun, fast-paced, and industry-leading psychedelic health-tech startup.
