Lakshmi Athota, MD is a practicing psychiatrist of 20 years. She has served individuals and communities in a variety of settings from rural medicine internationally, to working across public and private health care systems to bring a holistic approach to health. She looks beyond symptom reduction to help people live a meaningful and engaged life. Lakshmi’s area of interest is the intersection of spirituality and science and the integration of expanded states to heal and build resilience in individuals and communities. Her approach is to facilitate reconnection to that part of each of us that is whole, complete, and always resourced while embracing the perfection of being an imperfect human being. Lakshmi is certified through the American Boards of Psychiatry and Neurology, Integrative Medicine, and Medical Acupuncture. Her personal spiritual practice, experience as a registered yoga teacher, and graduate of the Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy & Research certificate program at CIIS, informs how she works with preparation and integration of non-dual states.
