Bio: Kevin Matthews spearheaded the campaign that decriminalized psilocybin mushrooms on May 7, 2019 in the City and County of Denver. He currently serves as the President of the Denver Psilocybin Mushroom Policy Review Panel and is the Founder of Vote Nature, a digital platform that empowers community psychedelic reform by reconnecting constituents with their elected officials. He believes access to psychedelics is a human rights issue and that no person should be criminalized for their possession, use, or cultivation. He approaches his professional advocacy through a grassroots lens and works to bridge the needs and desires of the psychedelic community to the nation's elected officials and policymakers in order to promote and ensure people-first psychedelic reform. Kevin is a US Army Veteran and combines the skills he obtained while studying at the United States Military Academy with his 3+ years of experience as an advocate to advise campaigns and network internationally. He lives in Arvada, CO with his wife and 6 year old son, relies on safely exploring the innerverse with plant medicine, meditation, and mindfulness practice, and enjoys creating epic meals for his family and friends, fly-fishing, and hiking in the Colorado wilderness.
