Since our public listing in May 2020, we have been creating the building blocks to the foundation of our company with the goal of providing access to safe, evidence-based use of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies. These building blocks include:

  • Raising a total of $27.5M during 2020.
  • Acquiring MindSpace, a full service well-being organization who is pioneering psychedelic programming, having 3 operating clinics in Montreal;
  • Collaborating with MAPS Public Benefit Corporation to seek approval to deliver MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD through a single arm open label trial;
  • Signing an agreement with Syreon to undertake a compassionate access clinical trial of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for substance use disorders;
  • Becoming the 1st Canadian public company to legally harvest Psilocybe Mushrooms.

Numinus is looking for a VP Technology who will own and oversee the development and management of the company’s technology strategy including the adoption and implementation of new processes and software, the management the company’s technology infrastructure and architecture, oversight of IT operations for all units of the business (laboratory, clinics, research, head office) and all matters related to data privacy and security. This pivotal role will guide the organization through a digital transformation as it transitions from start-up mode through to the next stage of high growth and acquisitions.

Job Summary

  • Provide strategic direction for the design, implementation, management and support of technology systems that meet the needs of the business
  • Work with all areas of the business (laboratory, clinics, research, head office) on their unique technology needs
  • Align and deploy technology to streamline business processes
  • Identify and select and implement technology solutions
  • Own and optimize EMR and other technology healthcare solutions internally and externally
  • Own all other tech offerings and external products that the company deploys across all business operations
  • Own all relationships and collaborate with vendors on supply and delivery solutions
  • Align product architecture with business priorities
  • Own cyber security and data privacy efforts
  • Manage engineering, design and developer teams or agencies
  • Track and monitor technology performance across the organization, make recommendations to improve performance and optimize outcomes
  • Own the IT budget and ensure the cost-effective delivery of services and projects that align with the corporate and business unit strategy
  • Collaborate with the business to deliver business-centric projects using technology as a driver and the PMO to support

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Education/Experience

  • 10+ years in a similar role working with progressive technology solutions
  • Track record working strategically and operationally in growth companies aligning technology with business objectives
  • Experience spearheading internal and external (client-facing) IT projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated IT security, privacy, data protection, risk and compliance experience
  • Experience in healthcare and with EMR is an asset
  • Cloud computing and the utilization of other modern technology tools and products
  • Experience working in a regulated space is an asset

  • Strong project management experience
  • Experience working in start-ups and hypergrowth / quickly changing environments
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams while also functioning as an individual contributor

Location

This position can be fully remote. If you are located in Vancouver, due to government health regulations for COVID-19, our teams are working remotely. Once COVID-19 restrictions are eased, our teams will have the option of working from our office in Gastown. Travel to Numinus’ subsidiaries may be required.
