Overview

We are working on solutions to big challenges ranging from research on cutting-edge mental health treatments to building co-living spaces that are creating a new way to connect and live in community. I am looking for an Executive Assistant to join our team and amplify our impact. This position will play a key role in supporting me across multiple organizations with my day-to-day work on a range of projects. This full time role is based in San Francisco or LA and is for a career EA who thrives in fast-paced environments, meets challenges with excellence, and wants to join a team working to make a difference.

Who I Am

I’m an entrepreneur who brings people and resources together in service of systemic social change. I’m straight-forward, direct, and appreciate real-time feedback. Spiritual practice, conscious leadership, and wellness are central to how I like to live and work. I am growing my support team and you will be joining my Chief of Staff to help ensure my life and ventures are flourishing.

I split my time between the following organizations and initiatives:

Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative (PSFC), Co-founder and President

PSFC is a community of major philanthropists that supports research on and clinical trials of physician-prescribed psychedelic medicines and patient access to these treatments. Our world today is experiencing epidemic levels of mental illness. Emerging research indicates that psychedelic medicine has the potential to be a breakthrough in treating PTSD, depression, addiction, and other conditions. PSFC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, fosters a community of philanthropists dedicated to supporting psychedelic medicine in the face of widespread underfunding. In 2020, we completed a $30 million fundraising campaign to support the completion of phase 3 clinical trials of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy. I grow and cultivate our philanthropist community, ensure that our partner organizations have the resources they need, and direct people interested in the movement to where they can be most helpful.

Treehouse, Co-founder and Chairman

Treehouse is spearheading a new kind way to live for people who value community and measure success by collective thriving rather than individual achievements. Based in LA, Treehouse builds apartment homes designed for shared living. Treehouse Hollywood, the first building of several planned for Los Angeles, is now open in Hollywood and has 60 bedrooms with private bathrooms and beautiful common spaces, including a dining hall, library, cafe, gym, movie theater, and more.

Emerging projects

As a serial entrepreneur devoted to social impact, building community, and consciousness, I incubate new projects from time to time and am working on a new urban design venture that connects these three themes. Apply to learn more…

Who You Are

Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented with stellar written and verbal communication skills, you are able to think on your feet and multitask. You thrive in dynamic and changing startup-like environments and are grounded, direct, calm, and kind. You enjoy thinking through complex issues and coming up with innovative solutions. You bring energy and positivity to your work and hold yourself to a high standard of excellence. Conscientious, supportive, and high-integrity, you care about making a positive impact in the world, ideally through initiatives like the ventures above. You also have a strong social intuition and are excited about cultivating and maintaining relationships.

In addition to the above, you have two or more years of experience as an executive assistant, and are interested in a career in this work, as I am looking to hire someone to work with me over the long term.

The Details

This is a full time position. I currently split my time between San Francisco and Los Angeles and would prefer for you to be based in one of those cities. Work will be a combination of in-person at my office, home office, and remotely. I travel extensively. There will be some travel included in your position, but it will be minimal.

Pay and benefits are competitive and will be commensurate with your experience.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You will be working in close collaboration with me and my Chief of Staff, Ben Collins. You will ensure that our priorities are moving forward, projects are on track, and relationships with my network are carefully attended to. As my fundraising and work bridges the personal and professional, your responsibilities will span both domains.

  • Relationship Management Support - In collaboration with my Chief of Staff, you’ll maintain my CRM database to keep track of everyone in my network and make sure that they are exquisitely attended to: birthday gifts, preferences, meeting invites, spontaneous social/professional meetups around trips, project-specific communications, fundraising requests, reports/updates, timely appreciations, and on and on. The more initiative you can take here, the better. If taking initiative to add special touches for everyone excites you, this is the right role for you as my network of friends and collaborators is vitally important to me.
  • Time Management and Scheduling - Based on priorities we set as a team, you’ll plan my time, both personal and professional, and maintain my calendar accordingly. You’ll keep my task list, schedule meetings, and support me in managing my workflow during the day.
  • Project Coordination - You’ll use Asana and other organizational tools to coordinate all aspects of my world professionally and personally, and help structure my decisionmaking.
  • Communication and Email - You’ll manage professional email, help with collaborative writing / editing.
  • Project Collaboration - You’ll attend meetings with me and take notes, co-work with me, and keep me on task on projects as I am very collaborative by nature.
  • Travel and Event Support - You will provide logistical support to make sure everything runs smoothly from travel to event invitations, logistics, catering, etc.
  • Personal and Home Logistics - You will coordinate personal and professional services and appointments, run occasional errands, and coordinate home and office projects.
  • Financial management – You will track expenses, manage/pay bills, and keep my financial life well-organized.

Why this Job is Special

I’m working on a range of pressing social challenges with a diverse group of experienced industry leaders and entrepreneurs. This role will put you at the center of a dynamic network and enable you to contribute to projects that are highly impactful. As a team, we also seek to support each others’ development through coaching and professional development opportunities.
