Associate Consultant - Cannabis
Toronto based – John Street office (In-house position, not remote)
Opportunity:
This is a full-time position for a cannabis and psychedelics consultant. An ideal candidate is an intelligent, friendly/personable, and ambitious individual with strong abilities in technical document writing, documentation management, research, interpersonal skills and a desire to learn and grow with the company.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to the Senior Consultants to assist with the management of a portfolio of client projects which can include: Cannabis Act Applications, Licenced Dealer Applications, Gap Analyses, SOP writing, cannabis retail applications, compliance reviews and operational readiness for facility build-outs.
• Develop a strong knowledge of the Canadian cannabis and Controlled Substances Regulations, the ongoing changes in the cannabis industry in Canada and globally in order to support the team.
• Under the supervision of the Senior Consultants, write technical documents including Good Production Practices (GPP) Reports, Quality Assurance Person (QAP) Reports, Organizational Security Plan (OSP) Reports, Physical Security Plan (PSP) Reports, Key Investor Reports, Preventive Control Plans (PCP), developing Floor Plans for new facilities and support documents for regulatory research projects.
• Attend site visits and evaluations with Senior Consultants when required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at a time, maintain project status updates, meet internal and client expectations and provide feedback to both clients and CannDelta’s team in a professional and constructive manner.
• Conduct sales calls with prospects.
• Train junior staff and contribute to the direction of the company.
Experience & Qualifications:
• Consulting/Regulatory/Cannabis/Food/Pharma/Clinical/Natural Health Product experience is a strong asset.
• Technical Document Writing experience is required.
• Research and Analytical experience are required.
• Quality Assurance experience in Cannabis/Pharma/Cosmetics/Food is an asset.
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience is an asset.
• Previous experience in a consulting firm is an asset.
• Previous experience with Health Canada facility audits is an asset.
Skills & Knowledge:
• Familiarity with Quality Assurance principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and working within a regulatory framework.
• Understanding of creating and editing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) compliant with the Cannabis Act, Provincial and Municipal regulations.
• Ability to research and provide summary reports in the regulatory field.
• Excellent ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and set/meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Professional and confident disposition.
• Strong command of the English language.
• Ability to work independently without supervision and as part of a team.
• Anticipates and meets the client’s expectations and needs.
Education
• Undergraduate Degree from the Faculty of Pure or Applied Science from an accredited Canadian University (B.Sc.) required.
• Graduate Degree in Science from an accredited Canadian University (Ph.D., M.Sc.) preferred.
• Completion of a Technical Program in QA and/or Regulatory Affairs is an asset.
