Cannabis and Policy: Impacts on the Healthcare Environment

Federal and state policies affect the complete patient experience spectrum from the clinicians that provide care all the way down to the products that are consumed. Oftentimes, cannabis policies are written with meaningful intentions, but the translation to patient care is absent or obscure. A delicate balance exists between policy, enforcement of those policies, and ultimate impacts on patient outcomes. This course reviews conflict between federal and state laws/regulations surrounding cannabis, discusses product and label standardization practices, and reviews key definitions pertaining to cannabis policies.
