Cannabis & Addiction

This course with Mary Lynn Mathre, RN, MSN, CARN covers considerations for healthcare professionals on cannabis use and dependence. This includes the exploration of cannabis as a harm reduction agent. Participants will learn the difference between dependence, addiction, and tolerance. They will also be able to appropriately assess patients for cannabis intoxication, withdrawal, and cannabis use disorder. Mathre also recommends appropriate treatment options and considerations for navigating care with patients using cannabis.
